The Hamptons

Welcome to The Hamptons

A luxurious, charming, and relaxed beachside town steeped in natural beauty

Originally settled in the 1600s as a fishing and farming town, The Hamptons has evolved into one of the most desirable residential communities and vacation towns in the United States. The Hamptons are located on the southern end of Long Island and comprised of several distinct communities — Southampton, East Hampton, Bridgehampton, Watermill, Sagaponack, Sag Harbor, Springs, Amagansett, Montauk, and Wainscott. The most affluent and exclusive communities are Sagaponack, East Hampton, Southampton, Bridgehampton, and Water Mill. The immense estate homes and mansions in these neighborhoods are home to notable public figures and celebrities, including Brooke Shields, Neil Patrick Harris, Alec Baldwin, Kelly Ripa, Robert Downey, Jr., Ina Garten, Beyoncé, and Jay-Z.

The Hamptons are a historic town with a colloquial and relaxing feel. The residents here enjoy a relaxing retreat from the busyness of city life, where life takes on a slower pace and where they are surrounded by the beauty of nature. Although The Hamptons are most cherished for lazy summer days, they are beautiful and welcoming regardless of the season.

The neighborhoods are inhabited by an eclectic mix of young families, professionals, retirees, and celebrities, and there’s a strong sense of community. Neighbors are fond of gathering in local cafes, sharing a glass of wine poolside, and participating in community events. Some of the most prestigious and anticipated local events are The Hampton Classic, Hampton’s Fashion Week, East Hampton Artist & Writer’s Charity Event, and Hampton’s Jazz Fest. The residents also enjoy excellent dining and shopping in Sag Harbor, East Hampton, and Southampton.
